'You're Brew-tiful' - The Independent Coffee Scene

Here at Love Local Collective we don't love many things as much as we love coffee. There's nothing quite like that first sip of cappucino in the mornings, or a shot of espresso in a martini.

There has been a significant and exciting surge in the independent coffee industry recently, providing tough competition for the large coffee chains.

This is what we love seeing; your money feeding back into the community whilst empowering the independent business owners, further lighting their passion for providing good, honest coffee.

Facts from BCA

The South West are extremely lucky to have SO many wonderful coffee roasters. You've got oodles of brewers in Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Salcombe and Totnes; to mention a few!

In Plymouth and the South Hams, we are blessed with wonderful coffee shops such as Prime, Rhubarb & Mustard, The Good Coffee HQ, Jacka Bakery and Harbour House, to name a few.

Check them out... you won't be disappointed.

Coffee consumption has boomed across the UK and with so many choices on offer, both at home and on the high street, this increase is not surprising.

Interestingly, 65 per cent of coffee is drunk at home, 25 per cent at work or while studying, and the rest is consumed in shops, bars and restaurants.

Reliant on the caffeine spike a morning brew offers, the BCA has revealed that the UK’s coffee consumption has soared to 95 million cups a day in 2018, up from 70 million in 2008. That’s an increase of 25 million over the last 10 years. A staggering fact! Who else agrees that the market is definitely there?
